Capitol Gains

Hello!!!

Last night saw us play in Capitol, Sauchiehall Street. It was our first gig in Glasgow since June and, whilst a little rusty in parts, we got great feedback from the people there. We didn't get on until gone 11, so a massive thank you to everyone who came out and stayed around for over three hours to see us play, it means a lot to us. We had a great night, heard some other great bands and even got some folk dancing down the front. Thanks to Craig from What's The Noise, Michael the sound engineer, Black Avenue, Cha Cha Heels, Queen Jane, The Travels and all the folk at Capitol.

Our next gig is at Pivo Pivo on Thursday November 18th with Nespresco and Cyclephante. Tickets are £3 and this is going to be amazing! Cyclephante have won various national competitions in Italy and have played at a 12th century castle, so we're looking forward to a great show. Hope you can join us.

Hugs and kisses,

Egon

The Italian Job

Hi everyone

We're very pleased to be able to announce that one of Italy's best unsigned bands will be joining us at Pivo Pivo on November 18th. As part of a small UK tour Cyclephante will entertain a Glasgow audience with their mix of rock, funk and Italian folk music. It will be an amazing night!

Tickets will be £3 and available in advance or on the door. We anticipate a high demand so make sure you get yours as soon as you can from one of us.

In their own words:

"Cyclephante is an Italian band formed at the end of 2003. The four guys have known each other since childhood and started playing just for fun, realising soon the incredible vibrations they could create together. Their music is characterized by catchy acoustic guitar riffs, a powerful rhythmic section and the use of odd signatures. The unique and unusual character of their melodies is given through different musical atmospheres (rock, funk, metal, classic, folk) the guys can condense in a single tune: it is border music, it is a sound of cities and valleys, of water and earth.
After winning several contests, playing all over Italy and Europe, releasing a self-produced album (Peach in Love-2006) Cyclephante have started playing again and are working on their second album, which is going to be recorded at the beginning of 2011"

Find them on their Myspace page

If you know anyone in London, send them to the Hope and Anchor, Islington on Tuesday 16th, and anyone in Dundee can catch them on Wednesday 17th at Drouthy's.

We're very excited about this, and hope all of you can join us.

Pick up a CD with a few of their songs from us at our gig at Capitol on Friday. We've still got tickets for £4, or £5 on the door.

See you Friday

Needs More Salt...

Evenin'

Tonight saw Feeding Egon make their acoustic debut at the Halt2 open mic night. We were expecting an empty room, and instead got a decent smattering of folk and some amazing performances before we were called upon. We started with 'Down Below' and moved on to 'Hula-Hoop'. Everyone else got to play 3 songs, we only got the two for some reason. Don't really think we were what people were there to hear, maybe if we'd just moved a capo up the neck and played the same thing they'd have liked it more.

Nonetheless we enjoyed the performance, could be the start of something. Keep an eye out at future open mics for a song or two by Feeding Egon.

We also had a practice tonight, it went well. The second practice on the run up to our live return at Capitol on October 15th. Gonna be a stormer of a set, and the new songs we're working on are shaping up nicely to be debuted in November at Pivo Pivo.

We now have the tickets for the Capitol gig, if you'd like one speak to one of the band or comment below and we'll get you one.

Hope to see you there, or maybe at an open mic night if we practice it a bit

Word to your mother
